Clubs
Southern Virginia University recognizes that much learning is accomplished beyond the formality of the classroom in organized academic activities. To a great extent this learning takes place through extra-curricular activities and student organizations. Activities and groups broaden the scope of general learning and provide leadership and service opportunities that can supplement classroom instruction and enhance Southern Virginia's leader-servant mission.
Students can also further develop professional, cultural, social, or recreational interests that are consistent with the educational goals and purposes of the university. Student groups and/or organizations at Southern Virginia are subject to the rules and regulations of the university set forth by the board of trustees and the president's council. All clubs are managed under the auspices of the Dean of Students Office and the Southern Virginia University Student Association and advised by a faculty or staff member.
To organize a club and apply for official SVU club status, print a copy of the club application and constitution and submit all required information to the Joe Bouchelle, Associate Dean of Students (Main 229). For more information, contact Joe Bouchelle at 540-261-8428.
