Richard and Kathleen came together in a second marriage in January 2004, both of their spouses having died. They each have five married children, and together 40 grandchildren. Richard is the son of Milton Wilson and Emma Summerhays Walker. An attorney by profession, Richard received a J.D. from the University of Utah. He is a retired major in the military and has served as a bishop, stake president and president in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission. Kathleen is the daughter of Gordon B. and Marjorie Pay Hinckley. She is presently serving as a ward Relief Society president. Her public service includes chair of the Salt Lake Visitors and Convention Bureau, co-owner of Meetings America, and a member of the Board of Directors of Bonneville International and Barnes Banking Company. Richard and Kathleen Hinckley Walker also served as president and matron of the Salt Lake Temple from 2005 to 2008. Their first book entitled House of Learning, Getting More From Your Temple Experience will be published by Deseret Book in the summer of 2010.
