- To contact OPSS, dial 4911 on campus or 540-261-4911 off campus. (Available 24 hours a day).
- To report a sexual assault, call Project Horizon at 540-463-7861. (540-463-2594 for the hot line).
- To report a crime in confidence, call Hugh Bouchelle, the Director of OPSS, at 540-261-4911.
- For personal counseling, call the Southern Virginia University campus counseling office at 540-261-4371.
Timely Warnings
In the event that a situation arises, either on or off campus, that, in the judgment of the director of the Office of Public Safety and Security (OPSS), constitutes an ongoing or continuing threat, a campus wide "timely warning" will be issued.
The warning will be issued through the university e-mail system to students, faculty, staff. OPSS may also post a notice on the university website. Anyone with information warranting a timely warning should report the circumstances to OPSS at 540-261-4911.
