Mail Center
The Southern Virginia University Mail Center is located in the recently renovated Student Center in the middle of campus. All packages and mail for the university are delivered to this location.
Students living in Residence Halls (Lofts, Robey, Craton) are assigned a mailbox at the beginning of each academic year. Students living in town houses, modulars, or houses can have their mail sent to the local address of their residence. Local addresses can be found under "Residence Halls and Houses" on the left navigation pane.
Student mail should be addressed as follows:
Student Name
Box #
One University Hill Drive
Buena Vista, VA 24416
Mail pieces missing a student mailbox may be delayed or returned to sender. If you need a student's mailbox number, please contact the Mail Center at mailcenter@svu.edu, or call 540-261-4336.
Students will be emailed via their Southern Virginia email account when a package arrives for them. All packages can be picked up from the Mail Center during office hours.
The Mail Center is open Monday-Friday. Daily operating hours are posted on the door.
Mail Carriers
The United States Postal Service (USPS) picks-up and delivers mail Monday-Friday. Mail is then sorted by Southern Virginia staff and delivered to campus mailboxes.
UPS has daily pick-up service, Monday-Friday. Pick-up is generally after 4 p.m.
Fed-Ex frequently makes deliveries, but does not have a regular pick-up scheduled with the university. Students can schedule a pick-up online at fedex.com, using the One University Hill Drive address. Fed-Ex will then pick the package up from the mail center.
International letters may be sent from the Mail Center; however, international packages must be sent from either the Buena Vista Post Office or any local shipping office.
