Telephones
Each room in on-campus housing has a phone line available for student use. Students must provide their own telephone, and may make local phone calls free of charge. Long distance calls require a phone card, which can be purchased from many grocery or convenience stores in the area.
Please note that any phone calls outside of the university phone network require that the user dial "9" before the desired number (ex: 9-261-8400).
Voicemail service is also available; however, because of the prevalence of cell phones, the majority of students never utilize this service. Voicemail is therefore only set up on request through the housing or IT department.
The phone number for a resident's room can be found on their orientation check-in sheet, the online student directory (located in MySVU), or can be obtained from the Housing Office by emailing housing@svu.edu.
