Who is the Head Resident Advisor?
Summary of Duties
The Head Resident Advisors (HRA) are assigned to manage and administer Residential Living Policies under the direction of the Director of Housing. Each HRA is given responsibility for specific university-owned residential living units in a designated area, and they supervise Resident Advisors (RAs) living in that area. Head Resident Advisors reside in an assigned university-owned residential living unit. They assist in management of university-owned housing, enforce the Honor Code and Residential Living Policies and report all violations and/or failure to comply to the Director of Housing or Dean of Students as appropriate.
Head Resident Advisors are selected each year from a pool of applicants by the Director of Housing. Compensation includes free room and board. Four Head Resident Advisor married couples and one single male Head Resident Advisor are selected each year. Applicants must have attended Southern Virginia for at least one semester prior to applying for a Head Resident Advisor position (for married couples, only one member must have attended).

The Housing Office has already selected the Head Resident Advisors for Fall 2011. Review of applications for Fall 2011 will be advertised at another date.
