Provost Paul Edwards to Discuss Accreditation and Personal Achievement at Forum Nov. 13

Provost Paul Edwards will discuss the Southern Virginia University’s progress toward obtaining regional accreditation at a forum on Friday, Nov. 13, at 11:00 a.m. in the Stoddard Activities Center.
Edwards joined Southern Virginia in June 2006 as executive vice president and provost. Prior to that time, he was a distinguished affiliated scholar at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Edwards previously served also as president of the Mercatus Center and vice president of academic affairs at the Institute for Humane Studies, the Mercatus Center's sister organization.
Edwards previously taught law, ethics and government courses at Brigham Young University. He has also been a visiting professor of law at the American University of Armenia. His work on the legal, political, and constitutional issues surrounding campaign finance has been published in Yale Law & Policy Review, Catholic University Law Review, BYU Journal of Public Law and USA Today.
Edwards earned his Ph.D. in jurisprudence and social policy as well as his J.D. at the University of California, Berkeley. He received a B.A. in history from Brigham Young University, and a certificate in French language from the Sorbonne in Paris.
He and his wife, Margo, are the parents of four, including their missionary son, Derek, who is currently serving in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission.
