Ned C. Hill, former dean of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University, will address the Southern Virginia University campus community at Friday’s forum at 11 a.m. in the Stoddard Activities Center.
Hill served as the Marriott School’s dean from 1998 to 2008. During that time the school funded and built a 76,000 square-foot addition to the N. Eldon Tanner Building, developed a first-class placement facility and staff, more than quadrupled its endowment, and saw its reputation for excellent management degrees rise substantially.
Hill holds a Ph.D. in finance and a master’s degree in chemistry from Cornell University, and a bachelor’s in chemistry from the University of Utah, where he was a laboratory assistant to professor Henry Eyring.
He and his wife, Claralyn, have five children and fifteen grandchildren.
Local community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and students are invited to join the university each Friday morning at 11 a.m. to hear from devotional and forum speakers.
