Steve Baldridge
Associate Professor of Politics & Education
Steve Baldridge is an associate professor of politics and education at Southern Virginia University.
Dr. Baldridge came to Southern Virginia in 1998.
Previously, he was a faculty member at Barry University in Miami, Fla. and at Brigham Young University-Provo, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses. Dr. Baldridge received both a Ph.D. in educational leadership and a Juris Doctorate from Brigham Young University. He completed additional graduate studies in English, French and Spanish at the Henre Dunant Red Cross Research Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasburg, France, and Tokyo University.
He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Delta Phi (law), and Pi Sigma Alpha (political science) honor societies. Dr. Baldridge has published five scholarly articles and presented numerous papers at regional, national and international conferences. In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Baldridge has served Southern Virginia as assistant dean of students directing honor code affairs, faculty athletics representative, registrar, and advisor to The Paladin student newspaper and the Student Association.
It is a delight for him and his wife, Miyoko, and their children to be a part of the momentous changes Southern Virginia is bringing to the local area and to the world.
