John Brandt
Financial Aid Director & Adjunct Instructor of Business
John Brandt is financial aid director and adjunct instructor of business at Southern Virginia University.
He joined the staff in June 2007. He is responsible for various budgeting, accounting and institutional advancement functions.
He has owned and operated a consulting business since 2001, providing management and financial services to various clients. He retired from AT&T in 2001 as a Division Manager Network Operations after a 21 year career. He had previously served five years active duty as a Signal Corps officer in the United States Army and continued serving in the United States Army Reserves until his retirement with a ranking of Lieutenant Colonel.
He is married to the former Susan Smith Griffiths and they have six children and nine grandchildren. Four of their children are graduates of Southern Virginia.
