E Susan Kellogg

Division of Family and Social Sciences Chair, Professor of Business

Susan Kellogg is chairwoman for the division of family and social sciences and a professor of business at Southern Virginia University.

Dr. Kellogg joined the faculty in 2001. She has more than thirty years of leadership experience in marketing, management, and organizational communication. She has served on the business faculties of Mount Vernon College, Johns Hopkins University's School of Continuing Studies, Trinity College, Mount Saint Mary's College, Gettysburg College, and the John Sperling Graduate School of Business at the University of Phoenix in Maryland. She has also served as the vice president and dean of students at Wheaton College and Hood College. She has been the national director of personal insurance marketing and director of the Women's Research Group at Metropolitan Life Insurance and Affiliated Companies (MetLife) in New York City, and the first woman insurance commissioner for the State of Maryland.

In addition to teaching at Southern Virginia University, Dr. Kellogg is a management and marketing consultant, a nationally renowned public speaker, and the owner of LoveJoy Fine Estate Jewelry, an online jewelry store. She also sings with the Rockbridge Choral Society. She and her husband Walter A. Frankhauser, a commercial and landscape photographer, live in Rockbridge Baths with their canine companions.
