International Student Application Process
Southern Virginia University welcomes international* applicants. Because foreign applications often take more time and effort to prepare and process, review the requirements for application carefully. Be sure to plan for enough time to prepare the application, secure finances, receive an I-20, and obtain a visa. If you have questions, please contact your admissions counselor.
*Aside from the I-20 Certificate of Eligibility, Canadian students may follow the same application procedures as American Citizens.
International students outside the U.S. and Canada seeking admission to Southern Virginia University must submit the following items:
Online Application
International applicants must complete the online application, which contains your personal information, information from your parents and details of your educational and extracurricular activities, including service, athletics and fine arts.
The online application is your opportunity to tell us who you are, what you’ve accomplished and why you think Southern Virginia is a good fit for you. Applications for the fall semester should be submitted by June 1.
