The diversity of careers available to those with a degree in business from Southern Virginia University is limitless. Ranging from becoming your own boss as an entrepreneur to becoming a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, a business degree teaches students how to think critically and lead in the workplace. Whether you want to trade stocks on the New York Stock Exchange or teach finance at a university, a business degree from Southern Virginia prepares you to excel both on the job and in life. Other possible careers achievable with such a degree include working in human relations, accounting, marketing or finance. Banking, information technology, economics and financial management also are all related fields in which a business major can perform at an exceptional level.
Job Placement
For Business Management and Leadership graduates who have not gone on to graduate education, more than 90 percent are employed in a professional position with the remaining working in a volunteer setting or employed as a full-time parent. Of those employed, more than half have gone to work for nationally and regionally recognized firms, such as American Express Personal Financial Advisory Services, Wells Fargo, Black & Decker, Lockheed Martin, Wal-Mart, Zions Bank and Goldman-Sachs. Not all students want to work for big businesses, but wherever our graduates have gone, they have been successful and competitive in every way.
