Critical Support with LSAT and LSDAS
Pre-law students are encouraged to begin exploring the
LSDAS site as soon as they become interested in law as their chosen profession. Professor Baldridge has a matrix of US law schools organized by mean GPA and mean
LSAT score. LSDAS also has a search engine with parallel information on law schools, allowing students to compare them.
Students are encouraged to apply to at least 6 schools: 2 matching their GPA/LSAT, 2 where they are above average on at least 1 factor (safeties), and 2 where they are slightly below average on factors (stretchers) but where they think they are a good fit.
Students usually take the LSAT in June after the junior year or October of the Senior year, and complete all applications to law schools by the end of Christmas Break of the Senior year.
Students are free to discuss with Professor Baldridge schools that interest them, and why, as they realistically sort out their own priorities among the options reasonably available to them.
Professor Baldridge also works with students on the personal statements required in law school applications. This process often takes weeks or even months to refine.
