Health Expert, Administrator to Speak at Forum Dec. 4

Patrick Stern, director of developmental and behavioral pediatrics at East Tennessee State
University College of Medicine, will
give a forum address entitled “A Wellness Plan: Healthcare Needs to Treat More
Than Sickness,” at Southern Virginia University Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. in
the Stoddard Activities Center.
Besides working as the director of development and behavioral
pediatrics, he is a professor for the university. He also has hospital
privileges at Johnson City Medical Center in the general pediatrics and
developmental/behavioral pediatrics.
He has written and
published over 20 journals, among which are “When Children With
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Become Adults” and “Professionals
Perceptions of Divorce Involving Children.”
Doctor Stern received his doctor of medicine degree from Case Western
Reserve University and then completed his residency at Wilford Hall, United
States Air Force Medical Center. He participated in fellowships, first at Hanna
Pavilion and then at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital.
Local community members and Southern Virginia faculty, staff and
students are invited to hear from devotional and forum speakers in the Stoddard
Activities Center each Friday morning at 11 a.m. Recordings of past forum and
